Quality Time @ EP

I usually don't go there by myself unless its been a while. . . Emirates Palace is probably my 5th choice of a place to sit, N-JOY a cool or hot beverage (with or without a meal) and a nice book.
I go there and choose a very discreet area where I won’t be disturbed. . . silence helps me think and recall many events (good & bad).
It also helps me focus on what I read.

As you can see, I an avid reader of books. I am not a Geek, Nerd or a wiz kid. I just like reading.
My car is like a mini library. I pick a title and read. It’s a habit I learned to like when I was in the States while listening to Des’ree “You Gotta Be” 1999 on my way back from the University on a rainy day.

I loved the 90s . . . great songs that actually uplift you. (1996- 2001) were the best years of my life. It bothers me to know that I have not been back ever since I got here. If I get a chance to go do my 2nd MBA or study or even visit, I would do it in a heartbeat.

It’s not only education, it’s the experience, the people you get to know, learning to depend on your own, everything. You never send a child to on his own unless you are sure he/ she will be OK.

I remember Arriving at Washington D.C. on a very snowy day on January 96. . . hotel check in was no problem because they were informed.

I’ll never forget how happy I was to make a Snow Angel in a park nearby the hotel.
Oh how I wish I could turn the Clock back to 1996.

LOL was just about to write a comment when I read this "You can speak up your mind. But I won’t allow vulgarity. If you feel like saying something vulgar, go find someone on the streets and unleash the demon within you"
Right to the point :D

I'm lucky when it comes to reading. I'll be in my own world where hardly any interruption could break the trance. The only peace and quiet I can get around the house is when I stick my head in a book.

Gosh, that's what I miss the most, snowmen, snow angels, and waking up to a snow covered backyard, that’s just good living :)

Interesting blog

Emirates Palace, hmm, interesting but I hate their Valet Parking, Qaleeleen il2adab.
Point # 2 I noticed, you like to be alone and u intend on purpose isolate yourself from others. (I'm not a psychic)
With your post, you make me want to go to Magrudy's soon, and btw this book you're reading, how is it?

@ 8bitsofcoffee: Thaaaaank U 4 passing by. . . do visit again, please. Oh Yah, isn’t it just awesome to wake up to see 2 o3 inches of snow? I miss that.

@ Karamilah: LOL, Valet Parking, I park my car by myself :-P I don’t trust valet parking people. Point #2, I think U got the wrong impression about me. :-P there is (me time) and there is (friends time). . . I got both times fixed. I don’t like isolating myself unless I have a project to complete or reading to do :-)
The book is fascinating. It’s a James Bond Novel. . .
check it out on wikipedia:

@ DxBroSe: Yes dear, Emirates Palace for reading, eating, drinking, attending functions, beach, health club, spa….etc :-). . .
I am sure you know that there is a HUGE coffee shop there that can accommodate all sorts of people. Its not always 100% full. I go there on specific days/ timings when it’s almost empty.
(some, Not all kids) learn to adapt to new settings... Keep in mind we are raised in an (intradependent culture/ mindset) where we are part of a collective mindset, a tribal system etc...

@ Mitso: I thank you for taking the time to read my posts. I’ve added my e-mail to the profile as per your request.
