So, what have I been up to lately? I was trying to post something when I learned that a fiber optic cable near Egypt got damaged. You know what that means: SLOW EVERYTHING, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! ! ! I felt it on my Blackberry too. . I received delayed e-mails.. Ok Booooooooooooooooooooring.
December so far has been quite a month. Temperatures are down, most have a cold or are feeling a little feverish. . . :-P not me 7emdella. I am taking the extra precautions. Oh, I CRAVE going somewhere snowy, fall on my back, smother myself in SNOW, make a snow angel or throw snowballs at someone.

A new opportunity is on the horizon,I am getting a job offer soon YeeeHaaaaa!
I am excited about it because it brings out the best in me. Who knows, 2009 could be my big break? Maybe, maybe not. . .Let’s hope for the best. If it wasn’t, at least we both know I tried hard.
Funny thing happened last week though, our DEPUTY CEO got to know about my intentions to leave. . . News travels with the wind. He called me to discuss it. . .
Deputy CEO: Wuts up?
Me: Nuthin much. . . . (with a smile and lower eye brows) but I have a feeling you already know.
Deputy CEO: Yes, so tell me then, who, where what and why?
Me: As for who, its government, where? outside banking in a totally different industry, why? I am getting 28% more than what I get here, I am going to be a head of department and have 7 people reporting to me plus the benefits are similar to what a Head gets here. I also believe this is new job will open up new doors because the entity I am thinking about joining is expanding rapidly and in need of capable people.
I smiled then continued: You know boss, Both of my younger brothers (allahumma la 7esad) are far more successful and are making more than I do even though I got promoted 2 months ago. Honestly, I feel like a slacker even though I spent time trying to get that EMBA while working. .but still, I feel that I can’t spread my wings here.
Deputy CEO remained quite analyzing the “info, info, info” he received from me then he spoke:
Ok, its good that you are considering a government entity, but Listen, money is not everything. Having people report to you is not prestigious, your family will not stop loving you because you are less successful and YOU belong here with us. . . .
Then he started talking about .....................the past?!?

Wait a sec. . past is past. . . . times have changed. We are talking about my future here. . . I don’t want to remain an employee at some company or government authority until I become old, moldy, slow, ugly and OLD. I want a future of my own, the job is temporary until I am able to stand on my own feet without ANY KIND OF SUPPORT what so ever.
Ok, I am 31 years old who lives with his family. There is no shame about that here in this part of the world. But I do want to establish MY OWN life, get or buy my OWN house, with my OWN backyard and garage, MY OWN flat screen TV, MY OWN car(s), MY OWN everything. Not that I am selfish or greedy or anything like that, no no no….. Homey aint like that, yaaal.
I want to establish my independence to prove that I have a sense of purpose to SUPPORT myself and other individuals without having to worry about next month’s pay. Hey, we celebrate our Independence day 2nd of December. . . . . can’t we celebrate our OWN personal INDEPENDENCE. . . . ? I can’t wait to do that.

He concluded the meeting with couple of advices that are somewhat “Old School”. I like the guy and respect his point of view. But when it comes to my life, I believe I have the last say about it and I choose to spread & stretch my wings somewhere where there are lots of room to fly. I got used to politics in the workplace and am ready for more.
I’ve seen corporates fall under the supervision of some of the top expert/ highly educated people in the world. I’ve heard about companies RISE and REMAIN under the supervision of college/ high school dropouts, I’ve read stories about OLD & influential guys commit fraud and loose other people’s money (USD 50 Billion) in a heartbeat. To me, Age = Number. . . . just because someone is OLDER doesn’t mean they are SMARTER or Far more experienced. . . .

I Y my Current job and adore the people I work with, but inflation is a mean B*TCH! When you work and can’t save, you basically become a slave for money. I don’t want that and I am getting really tired of waiting or NOT fighting for what I deserve.
No New year resolution? :-) let’s keep that for next time. . soon. . . .

1- Yeah, can you believe it, years are passing so fast as if they are some pages of a book. and maybe allah bless you too and may ur 2009 be a year of prosperity and success.

3- December, was more than just a quite month, seriously, the weather changed so many things, and even plans, e7m, i mean ilbar, ilmzra3ah, ilba7ar, w 6al3at w 3eed w stuff. it was a bit festive lol.
4- IF you really want to go on vacation to some snowy place, the best is Austria, seriously bro, I miss that place soooo much, two skiing place worth visiting Seefeld and Ischgl. Oh you remind me of my childhood.
5- 3ajeeb u've been to the motors show. One evening I was at a friend of mine and she was like "how about we go?", we didn't go.
6- First mabrook 3ala the new job. 2nd, the part where ur Deputy CEO says You belong here with us, e7m shway tqhar.
7- It seems you ambitious, allah ywafgek, dreams comes true and the sky is ur limit, so dream and take action :).

Hay there,, well to me winter is meant to be quiet and dull =)
however; i won't blame u for feeling so still after the festive period we had end of Nov. beginning of Dec.
a person gets used to going out and attending events,,and suddenly pooooof there is nothing to do..
to be in a snowy place,, I'll advice you to visit a cold country when it's summer here,, IT'S AMAZING loOl.. to run from our heat to another country's cold weather,, doing this you'll enjoy winter for a whole year loOl
